EXIF Photo Stripper — Remove Hidden Photo Data
See the hidden GPS and camera data in your photos, then strip it all.
Your photo never leaves your device — everything happens in your browser.
What is EXIF data?
EXIF is hidden information your camera or phone embeds in every photo: the camera make and model, the exact date and time, camera settings — and often precise GPS coordinates of where the photo was taken. You cannot see it by looking at the image, but anyone who downloads the file can read it with free software. That innocent-looking photo of a product, a house, or your kids can quietly broadcast your location to strangers.
Why strip it?
If you sell items online, post photos on social media or marketplaces, or share pictures in chats and forums, stripping EXIF protects your privacy. It removes the GPS trail, timestamps, and device fingerprints before the file ever leaves your hands. Many platforms strip metadata on upload — but many do not, and you should never rely on them to do it for you.
How to use this tool
Choose a photo or drag and drop it. The tool shows a preview, file details, and any hidden data it can read — camera info, timestamps, and whether GPS coordinates are embedded. Then press Strip & Download: the image is redrawn pixel-by-pixel in your browser, which wipes every trace of embedded metadata, and you download the clean copy as JPEG or PNG.
Privacy, honestly
Everything happens locally in your browser. Your photo is never uploaded, never stored, and never seen by anyone but you. The detailed EXIF reader handles common JPEG layouts; if it cannot parse a file, it says so plainly — stripping still works regardless, because redrawing the pixels cannot carry metadata along.
