What is the Meme Generator?
The Meme Generator is a free online tool for making classic image memes in seconds. Upload any photo — or start from a plain dark background — add a top caption and a bottom caption, and the tool renders them in bold white letters with a black outline, the traditional meme style. Adjust the font size with the slider, then download your finished meme as a PNG to share anywhere.
How to use it
- Add an image: upload a JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF (first frame). Prefer no image? Press "Use blank dark background" for a clean 800×800 dark canvas — perfect for text-only memes.
- Write captions: type your top and bottom text. Captions are uppercased automatically for the classic look, and long lines shrink to fit the image width.
- Font size: the slider sets the caption size from 24 to 120 pixels.

Tips
Short punchy captions work best: setup on top, punchline on the bottom. Everything is rendered locally with the canvas API using Arial Black (with Arial as a fallback), so results look the same on any device, and your images never leave your browser.
